Kenshin 12 DVD collection. One single disk failing...

Post by vree360 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 10:18 am

So I'm making a backup of my Box collection of Kenshin (Samurai X) cotnaining 12DVD's.

I'm using makemkv to create a mkv of every single disc. Not changing a single setting.
But it always fails close to the end on disc 3 of the collection. All the other discs went fine.

Extra information:
I successfully made an ISO file of all 12 DVD discs. All the iso's are bootable and play fine. Same with DVD/ISO 3, played it in my ps4 nd watched it untill the end. Also the ISO creating was not a problem.

Still makemkv can't successfully create an MKV file. Tried both with the original DISC and the ISO.

Any ideas or other ways to complete my rip?

A debug log (FAQ link in my signature) would be helpful to see what kind of error is being encountered.

IFO files:

https://wetransfer.com/downloads/efb09d ... 923/3d1afb

DISC LABEL:
GOD3

MakeMKV v1.12.3

If needed I can share the ripped iso version. But again before someone says it. Like I said before I tried MakeMKV on both the ISO and the original DVD with the exact same result at the exact same moment.

I even tried 2 different ISO making tools to verify it isn't just the disk. One that verifies every single sector. And all of them where OK, not a single bad one.

And as stated before whatched all episodes on that disc in my PS4 and that worked fine.

You could try going back to version 1.12.2; there have been some issues with 1.12.3 on SOME disks.

Where can I download these old versions?

EDIT: Never mind found the key. Testing now.
EDIT: Nope still no luck using that version. Will have to take do with HandBrake for now for that one disk.
