I am trying to rip my classic but old Back to School DVD and it rips without errors but I get no sound. This disk is so old it has one side for wide screen and the other side standard.
Any reason why sound would not be ripped? I am checking the Dolby English sound track...
Back To School - no sound
Re: Back To School - no sound
If you didn't deselect audio before starting the rip, the audio should be there in the MKV file. It is possible that your player might not handle it, though.
For example, while AC3 is standard on DVDs and decoder software is freely available for it, Apple insisted that it be removed from players in the iTunes app store unless they proved they had a paid license for the proprietary AC3 decoder. So, things like VLC on an iOS device can't play DVD video with DVD audio.
What are you using to play it back? What does it show in track information?
