Ripping error

Post by wl.boer » Wed Dec 16, 2015 6:14 am

This is the very first time having a problem ripping a DVD in MakeMkv, I have ripped hundreds including Bluray's. The DVD in question is one of the James Bond Box set. The Disc plays alright in VLC, MPC, Windows DVD Player and the standalone DVD Player. Is there a solution?
Not to technical if possible please, I am a senior citizen trying to keep up with the ever changing world of computers.

Using direct disc access mode
Title #1 has length of 9 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #2 has length of 87 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #4 was added (34 cell(s), 1:54:02)
Title #5 has length of 16 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #7 has length of 34 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #8 has length of 31 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #9 has length of 76 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped

The drive appears to be having some issues reading the disk, and returns invalid information instead of an actual error code. Have you tried cleaning the disk yet?

The disk is brand new and as I mentioned it plays ok in various media players. I have also used Ideal DVD copy to extract the main movie on disk.
That worked ok and the file is playable but when I tried to convert it from vob to mkv the same errors come up. I have thrown it at mkvtoolnix but a read error comes up.
