"Failed to open disc" error
I have a functional .iso file and received the error when I tried to convert the .iso to .mkv ------ any ideas
I'm able to load the .iso file and watch the video with several different players. Make MKV just doesn't like it for some reason.

Hi!
1) What software and procedures did you use to create the .ISO image file?
2) Do you encounter the same problem if you load your original, commercial disc into MakeMKV, instead of loading the .ISO image file?

Re: "Failed to open disc" error
I used AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 to rip the disc to .iso just like all the other videos that I have before I came across MakeMKV. It is just odd that all the other .iso files work with MakeMKV. I can load mount the .iso and watch the video using XBMC or VLC Player, so I know the file is ok.
I do not have the original disc any longer

At this forum, it's not appropriate to discuss problems regarding discs that you either don't own or don't have in your possession...

Ever heard of kids? They tend to destroy crap. I see where you are going with your comment about it not being appropriate, but your are mistaken.

Re: "Failed to open disc" error
Because its virtually impossible to actually figure out (not simply guess) what the problem may be, if you don't have the original source disc to test with and make comparisons......or don't have in your possession.
