Hello, I've nearly completed ripping my collection. I've now come down to the worst of the worst. WB discs with dual layer.
Hamlet (1996) and The Departed (2006)
I've cleaned the discs and the drives. I've got two drives, one DVD, one Blueray combo, both fail. I even got a copy of both movies from the library. Fail in the same place.
"Title #1 declared length is 2:30:52 while its real length is 1:14:18 - assuming fake title"
Any tips or tricks to get the disc to recognize the second layer?

Re: Dual Layer WB discs Fail
That error usually isn’t a broken second layer—it’s a wrong playlist / fake title structure on the disc. You should not trust the automatically selected main title and scan for multiple playlists (MPLS) and try the longest one manually. Use a ripper that allows full disc structure access (not just “main movie” mode)
Since both drives and even library copies fail the same way, it’s almost certainly disc authoring complexity, not a hardware or layer-reading issue.
