SummerSlam 1988 fails rip.

#1 Post by jeromewink » Thu Dec 18, 2025 12:47 am

I have ripped my entire collection of DVD's but can't get 1 to rip. When I google I find in other sources that other users are having issues with this exact disc. So it seems like a bad Master. It plays just fine in any DVD player so it's not like the whole thing is unreadable. I have 3 DVD drives and there is no difference when using any of them and the disc is in very good shape. I tried this years ago and since then several MakeMKV releases show "Improved handling for discs with mastering errors" but that does not seem to have fixed anything.

Is there anything I can do differently?

You could try making a decrypted backup of the disc (icon of yellow folder with green arrow on MakeMKV's first screen) and opening the resulting .iso file with MKVToolNix GUI and trying to create a .mkv file that way. I have no idea if it'll work.
