You could try gently cleaning the disc.

You should also make sure the drive is plugged into high powered USB ports if it is powered by USB.

Even brand new, fresh-out-of-the-wrapper discs can sometimes benefit from a cleaning. There is either some leftover lubricant from the manufacturing process or deposits from the plastic case off-gassing. Both of these are almost invisible to the naked eye but make life harder for the optical drive.
