I have a DVD boxset where the second layer of all 4 discs can't be read. It is a pretty old boxset so I'm thinking age and/or storage conditions before my friend bought (recently) as a cause for the second layers not being readable. Other boxsets for this series were ripped successfully.
I initially thought it might have been my bluray drive, but I tried a plain old DVD player and a PS4 and none of them could read the episodes that are on the second layer.
Is there anything I can do to potentially make the disc readable enough to extract their contents? The surface is scratch free and the label doesn't appear to be damaged either.
