I have a home-made DVD disc that I'm trying to rip. I have a Toshiba VHS-to-DVD recorder unit that I used to create the DVD disc from VHS source material. I recorded the disc on the super long play (admittedly garbage quality) mode, which produces an 8 hour recording on a single 4.7GB DVD-R disc. So far so good.
When I put the disc in my PC and open it up in VLC, I see the full title length (8:02:08) and it plays just fine all the way to the end. When I scan/rip the disc in MakeMKV, however, it only shows up as 5:01:28. I did the rip and checked the file and, indeed, it is truncated at 5:01:28.
Any suggestions?
