Had a weird problem recently. My drive decided to repeatedly fail hash checks on several uhd discs at exactly the same point. The last time it started doing it I got the hump and clicked to cancel, rather than wait for it to time out. No matter how much I told it to cancel it would just keep trying. I ended up having to force MakeMKV to close, but after doing that and restarting it refused to recognise any disc (uhd or brd) that I put in.
I thought it might be the drive giving up the ghost, so ordered a replacement. When it arrived I plugged it in but left the original drive in place just so I could compare the settings on the two to make sure I had flashed it properly. Put a disc in and started ripping. It was then that I noticed that I'd put the disc in the old drive, due to habit, and it was working again.
Good for me, thinks I, as I can now do two discs at a time. This worked well until last night, when I had the same problem again. This time, however it happened to both discs simultaneously, and I'm back to looking at "no disc" on two instances of MakeMKV.
This says to me that I'm not having an issue with the drive, but it's either Windows 11 or MakeMKV.
Anyone have any advice on how I can get back to ripping?
