It's a disc write error, you might have ran out of space on target drive.

thats strange, i had it set up so that it would go straight to my external hard drive, which has plenty of space.

i tried it again, this time, setting the target to be my desktop and it worked just fine. what i dont get is, there is PLENTY of space on my external hard drive, so why did it fail when that was the target location? after i successfully ripped the dvd to my desktop, i just moved it to my external drive.

I figured out why I was getting that error. My external harddrive was formatted as FAT32 which only allows file transfers of 4gb. Since The mkv file was bigger than that it wouldn't let me and error out.
