The error reads:

MakeMKV v1.9.9 win(x64-release) started
using direct disc access mode
failed to open disk

I have not seen this error with any other disc. What gives?

Do you have debug logging turned on? We need more information, and debug logging MAY give us that.

Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Redbox DVD

I get "no disc inserted" from MakeMKV, Windows 10 doesn't see the disc either. However, it works fine in my xbox one.

The MakeMKV log does not contain any info.

If Windows doesn't see the disk, it's a good bet that resetting the computer will change the situation... Not just logging out and back in, but powering down the computer, or (if it has it) pressing the reset button. There are times that Windows will stop talking to the hardware, or vice versa, and a hardware reset is the only thing that gets it all back to normal.
