HD DVD RIP Crashes

Post by split »

MakeMKV is able to read the contents of the HD DVD successfully.
However, when I click the "Make MKV" Icon, 2 seconds later a "MakeMkV console application" pops up.
"MakeMKV console application has encountered a problem and needs to close"

Error Signature:
AppName: makemkvcon.exe AppVer: 1.7.2.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll
ModVer: 7.0.2600.5512 Offset: 0000d572

System is Windows XP pro

Hi!

You should re-post your post to the HD-DVD specific thread in the "General MakeMKV Discussion" sub-forum here.

You should also include the title of the HD-DVD and state whether it is an original, commercial disc...

It won't make any difference. He's using 1.7.2 and HD DVD ripping has been completely broken since 1.7.1.

You need to go back to 1.7.0 until Mike fixes the problem.

Tried to install and run the older 1.7.0 version, but it complained of being too old. :?:

Did you put in the beta key? Mike said in another post that 1.7.0 should still work for the time being with the current key.

If not then send him a message because he's aware of the problem but thought there was a workaround.

It worked okay for me a couple of weeks ago when I needed to rip some more HD-DVDs but I haven't tried it since.

Did a search, found the key. Entered the key and 1.7.0 is now making the MKV....so far without errors.

Thanks for the tip on 1.7.0 :D
