This occasionally happens when the disk "won't read", i.e., the drive thinks you've put something other than a CD/DVD/BD in. Does the disk appear to have any damage on it, like scratches?

I'm using an old PIONEER BDR-209

I've run across discs that aren't recognizable before, but it hasn't ever ejected the disc automatically. Usually it spins-up, then Windows just does nothing and MakeMKV simply says "No disc inserted".

However, I can certainly see the reasoning behind the auto-ejection.

These discs (sometimes) will still play in my LG UBK80 but aren't even acknowledged as being in the PC drive.

And a replacement disc has always solved the problem, although on one occasion (see here) I went through three replacement discs until I found one that worked!
