strange error

i paid for dvd fab on one computer years ago i would still prefer makemkv but after having issues with a blu ray disc for an anime now im working on regular dvd cold case and futurama first episode keeps failing go over to dvdfab no issue any ideas? i really would prefer makemkv

The Futurama DVDs are not a problem for MakeMKV, so it would help to know what kind of errors you're getting. Those disks are old enough they probably have a chemical film on them from storage, so cleaning first is advisable.

Yeah, that's what you see when you have large areas that the drive can't read. It's possible that increasing the number of retries would make it happen, but cleaning is definitely going to work better.

cleaning my blu ray soul eater did nothing im just confused why makemkv is having issues and dvdfab is not, im in my basement doing all this i would prefer to be upstairs relaxing on my laptop but if makemkv keeps failing i have no choice
