I am just getting around to adding some of my wifes DVDs to our library using MakeMKV 1.18.3 and, and I cannot get Downton Abbey Season 5 to rip, I have tried manual mode and entered the title information that shows up on our DVD player and it starts to rip and then
Open DVD manually : "31"
Cells 1-1 were removed from title start
Cells 9-9 were removed from title end
Title #31 (1:09:34) was skipped due to navigation error
Failed to open disc
Has anyone successfully used MakeMKV to rip these discs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have ripped hundreds of other DVDs but this one has me stymied.
Downton Abbey Season 5
Re: Downton Abbey Season 5
On Debian (Linux)
I use gddrescue to make ISO image from DVD and then open that ISO with MakeMKV.
I don't have Downton Abbey Season 5 yet, but older and newer DA discs works just fine.
1. Install
apt install lsdvd gddrescue libdvd-pkg
2. Read the disc to get the key
lsdvd /dev/sr0
3. Make ISO image
ddrescue /dev/sr0 dvd.iso dvd.log -b 2048 -n -v
