Problem with DVDs ripped from DVR

Post by crt1948 »

Hello. I have just started using MakeMKV with the goal of converting my physical DVD library to MKVs for streaming in a home theater environment (from a Vortexbox server to a xbmc front end player/streamer). Most of my movie library consists of commercial DVD titles, however, I have archived (for my own personal use) some titles that I saved to my DVR then used a Toshiba DVD recorder to burn to DVD-R discs. All these self burned DVD-R titles play with no problem in a variety of DVD players. While I have had virtually no problem using MakeMKV with the commercial discs, NONE of my DVD-R titles have worked. MakeMKV goes through an initial process and then indicates the procedure has failed. The files are VIDEO_TS.IFO and supporting VOB files.

Any suggestions or advice? Many thanks. I apologize if this is inappropriate for this forum, but if this is something MakeMKV is not designed to handle, does anyone have an alternative software suggestion (lossless only please)?

I have followed the suggestion to contact support but have received no response thus far (several days later). Any other perspective?

Thanks.

All you can do is wait I'm afraid. The developer will post here or email you if he needs more information from you.
