First off, I'm a big fan of makemkv. Very useful tool...
I am looking at options for ripping and transcoding UHD discs that include Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
I realize makemkv can do the ripping just fine. It's the transcoding I need to work out, as Handbrake does not support Dolby Vision or HDR10+. Transcoding is simply to reduce file size, not to support various devices.
Should I just use DVDFab, or is there a better option, which does not involve sparsely documented tools like dovi_tool? As paying the $50 is not an issue, it seems like DVDFab is the easiest way to do this.
DVDFab for Dolby Vision titles?
Re: DVDFab for Dolby Vision titles?
A very good commercial solution is CloneBD from Elby. If you look for a solution that is free check BDRebuilder. A little tricky to set it up but works very good.

just to note, you're in the wrong forum.
