MakeMKV identifies DVD with incorrect aspect ratio

I am trying to use MakeMKV to convert a DVD with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 but MakeMKV detects it as a 4:3 aspect ratio. I can confirm that after ripping the DVD, it ends up being the incorrect 4:3 aspect ratio so everything is squished and people look tall and skinny. Here is a screenshot of the MakeMKV screen.
