I am hoping somebody can help me to get the forced subtitles to work properly for this disk. I understand the track is not properly flagged. However I have tried setting it forced in Make Mkv. I have also done it in MKVMerge. I tried demuxing it with Clown_Bd. I also have made sure the track was correct with BDsuptosub. However hen i play it in Kodi or MPC the subtitles fail to play properly. The only odd thing is that the mkv plays properly in the trial of JRiver I have. I am really at my wits end so any help would be appreciated. Also should the default track setting in MKVmerge be set to default yes or no? I have tried that all 3 ways to no avail.

Easiest way is to rip with all English subs with MakeMKV, identify the forced sub playing the file in VLC and then remuxing that stream as the first sub (flagging it to default yes/forced yes) in MKVToolnix.

Thank you for your advice. However I am still having the problem. Honestly I am at a loss. Avengers for some reason does not want to play the subtitles. I dont quite understand because I opened the new mkv in mkvmerge and it shows that the track is flagged forced. I am not sure what to try next

What player does not show the subs?

MPC and kodi. The trial version of jriver does show it properly. Also in MPC in the list of subtitles tracks its says the proper track is default and forced.

I'm stumped.
