First Time Ripping, not fully worked?

Hey all!
Long time watching and now I have taken the plunge, however the outcome was not as good as I hoped. In short, I ripped Iron Man from Blu-Ray, and the playback quality looks as though it came from a DVD.
So, I will walk you through the steps I did and hopefully we can work out where I went wrong.
First the hardware:
Hitachi-LG BU40N Internal UHD Blu-Ray
External CD DVD Drive, USB 3.0 Portable Type A Type C USB3.0 USB2.0 5Gbps Laptop Optical Drive Enclosure for 12.7mm 9.5mm SATA DVD RW Drive Laptop Desktop PC Windows
I then plugged it into my computer and downloaded MKV. I used the beta key and scanned the disk. It showed all the files on it, so I took the largest at around 27gb. I then ripped it and tested the file.
So, the file plays on both windows media player and plex, so that’s all good. However, as I said earlier it’s like watching a DVD copy. To compare I played it on plex with my PS5 and then watch it on the same PS5 directly form the Blu-Ray disk and you can see the difference! The Blu-Ray is brighter and sharper. Again the best way to explain is to compare watching a Blu-Ray to a DVD.
I have messed up somewhere but I’m not sure where, it took me while to rip DVD’s correctly, so I know it’s a process.
Any help would be great!
Many Thanks
p.s. My apologies for any spelling errors dyslexia is fun!
p.p.s Again my apologies for any terms I get wrong I am self-taught, so this is the first time I’m reaching out to the community for support!
