Hi,
I have a curious issue. The MKV's I create using makemkv will not playback in my LG -BD590 standalone player (which supports MKV playback), however MKV's I create in handbreak do. What I want to do is extract the main movie from DVD's and BR-Disc, include selected audio tracks, and package into MKV without any compression (native format). It seems that makemkv is able to do this, but the files do not play. Can anybody advise me on his? This issur occurs with both DVD and BDR.

Thanks!

I having the same problem. The newest version simply will not play. I have tons of MKV's I've made from MakeMKV and they still play fine. It's just the ones I have ripped the last couple of days with version 1.6.13.

Just because the player supports the MKV container, doesn't mean it supports all the codecs which can be stored inside it.

This is an issue with your player not supporting the video format inside the MKV container.

Thanks for the reply.

It is a DVD with mpg2 native. My player supports 100% mpg2/4. What would makemkv re-encode the original into something else? Am i missing somethng? If I extract the chapter in .vbo for example, it plays fine. If I use handbreak and set format to h.264 or mpg4, it will play. Am I not using makemkv correctly.

Thanks

It's quite possible your player doesn't support MPEG-2 in MKV. Many players have silly limitations like that.
