Media player dosen't see the MKV I create.

Post by Islander »

I use a Sony BDP-s480 bluray player to stream video from a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo to the TV using DLNA. I ripped a bluray using MakeMKV and copied it to the NAS but the Sony dosn't even see the film, yet other MKV's I tried that I didn't create all show up and play perfectly, I also copied the MKV's to a Buffalo NAS, on that the Sony does see them but won't play them.

Any ideas?

Cheers

The reason why you cannot read a mkv file coming from your Media Player (the machine who read the file).
(if you read the file with your Sony, you doesn't juste your DLNA).

So if you try to read a file from a NAS with Sony BDP-s480, the problem coming from Sony BDP-s480 and you should ask help to Sony.
Perhaps your Sony BDP-s480 doesn't support mkv file.

I could just recommend you a final test, make a mkv with only 1 audiotrack. If you're able to read it. You player doesn't support multi audiotrack.
