Issue with netgear EVA9150 player

Post by overlook »

Hi there,

I only use Makemkv to backup DVDs.
Everything works great with Makemkv software but after when i try to watch my video using my Netgear EVA9150 player (up to date) :

- i can't modify audio languages or subtilities. It says "not available"
- i can't fast forward or backward or use chapters. It says "not available"

Another Mkv files i already have work flawlessly with my EVA9150. Only files created with Makemkv do not work.

Playing the same file using my computer works great (audio, sub, forward, chapters, etc ...) :?:

Thank you for your help

hi

no it's worse ! No sound at all, no sub but can fast forward
It seems that this issue is coming from makemkv because when i use gordianknot to create mkv i can read mkv file and all work flawlessly.

Any idea ?

MKV is only the container. MakeMKV does not re-encode anything, and places the original DVD audio (AC3, DTS or PCM), video (MPEG-2) and subtitles (VOBSUB) in an MKV container.

Most/all other tools re-encode at least the video (usually to H.264). Solutions:

1) re-encode MakeMKV's output

2) get a player that supports DVD codecs in MKV (MPEG-2, AC3, DTS etc.)
