How to play 4K UHD ripped movies using VLC

Hi ... new to all things ripping, VLC and using UHD friendly drives. I bought a UHD friendly drive from one of the prominent forum members here that I received a few days ago. I've managed to figure out how to rip my 4K discs using MakeMKV program.
My movie folders are shown below:
1. How can I use VLC to play the ripped files. I point it to the 1917 folder (for example), and it freezes for a while then abruptly quits windows. Each of all my movie folders have a structure as shown below. I bet the answer is very simple, but can anyone point me to the right way to point VLC to play these movies?
Thanks!
