I get the error which says makemkv is reading faster than it can write to disk consider a faster hard drive. I am using the same drive to read and write to. I am assuming this isn't really an issue. Most drives can't write as fast as they can read. It's a fast ssd usb drive from wd. Any insight?

Don't worry about it, it isn't an error. I get the message always when reading from and writing to the same drive. No need for upgrade.
Of course, if faster results are important to you, use separate drives for reading and writing.
