PAL-formatted TV Shows

Will MakeMKV rip PAL-formatted (e.g., British) TV shows? If yes, will those mkv files be watchable on a 4K TV sold in the U.S. (e.g., using Plex)? Thank you.

Yes, MakeMKV does not care about the format of the video, it just copies the tracks through to the MKV file. If the DVD was in PAL, the MKV will be in PAL.
As for how it will look on a 4K TV, that would be the same as it does when viewing the DVD.

Thanks you for the quick reply.
My Oppo UDP-203 will play PAL-formatted DVDs, but I don’t own any PAL-formatted DVDs yet, so I can’t play one to see how it will appear on my Sony 4K TV. I am hoping that some reader might have succeeded in getting Plex to play them. If all else fails, I will buy an inexpensive set of PAL-formatted DVDs.
