Best media player for Windows?

What are the best media players everyone is using to get optimal quality playback of 4K UHD discs on Windows 10?
My VLC needs a lot of trial and error with settings sometimes even to play a 2160p mkv, though I have an Alienware with 17" 4K screen.
The 'Movies & TV' app has the best visual output but it just doesn't play certain 6 or 7 channel audios, though I am using 7.1 capable headphones. And it simply has no troubleshooting!
P.S. I am specifically asking for direct Blu-ray playback from the drive.
