Hello, and let me say that Makemkv is a wonderful program. I am looking for a beginners guide to re-encoding a large mkv file on windows 7. A method to reduce the file to a very small size without losing any picture quality would be great! :twisted: Thank you.

Download Handbrake
* Input the MKV
* Select MKV as output container
* Click on High Profile preset
* Click on video tab and select either a fixed file size or drag RF slider to a higher value
* On Picture tab reduce resolution if needed to further lower file size
* Click Start

Thats all you have to do.
