DVD rip output too bright

I have started to rip my DVD collection, and i have noticed that after using MakeMKV, the output file is much brighter than the original movie.

Here is an example how it looks, and i've colored a bit of the lower black (now grey) bar with black just to show how much brighter the rip is:

Does anyone know how to fix this?

MakeMKV does not alter the video stream. It's a playback issue.
