Converting Star Wars DTS-HD MA audio

Post by MI3Guy » Fri Dec 30, 2011 6:32 pm

When I try to convert the Star Wars DTS-HD MA audio to FLAC using eac3to I get poor audio quality. If I play it in VLC it seems to decode the DTS core well enough. Has anyone else had any luck getting this to work?

Note: I'm running eac3to in wine on Linux, but it can decode most movies perfectly so I don't think that is the issue.

What DTS-HD decoder did you install (eac3to needs one)? What version of said decoder are you using (some versions of the Arcsoft decoder are know to be broken with DTS-HD 6.1 sources, for example)?

You might get more help in the eac3to topic on the doom9 forum.

Thanks for responding. Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I was away. I am using ArcSoft. I switched to 2.1.6.113 and it worked (at least on TPM).
