Rip and Merge a Multipart BD

Post by FlyByWire1 » Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:12 pm

Hi,
I want to rip a movie (BD) that consists of several discs and finally get one single video file that I can put on my NAS and stream with Kodi. I already tried experimenting with MakeMKV, MKVtoolnix, AVIdemux, HandBreak and Windows Media Player.
Honestly, without knowing much about Video precessing I'm lost.
I want to extract the Main movies with one audio stream to a file and then merge the two files to one.
Could anybody give me a hint how to do that?

Thanks!

Use MakeMKV to rip the parts... all parts of the movie must be from the same source (i.e. multi-disc set), encoded with the same parameters into the same audio/video codecs, so make sure to select the same streams in each part.

Use MKVToolnix to join parts... [HowTo]: joining multi-part movies files with MKVtoolnix GUI

Optional: Use Handbrake, et al, to compress/re-encode complete video.
