Is it just me or does every Bluray/DVD player completely suck?

Hello everyone,,

I swear I've never had a bluray/DVD player that didn't have some sort of issue. Either it skipped, struggled to load, flickered, made a god awful sound, or responded incredibly slow to commands if at all. I don't think I'm buying super cheap. Mine now is a 3D LG with a 250 GB hard drive in it so I don't think it's a cheap model even though it's a couple years old now. I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone has a solution. I would greatly appreciate it because I hate boasting about how much better my HT is than my guests' but then I can't get the bluray player to play my discs!

If you're here, you're ripping your media to a storage device. Why are you bothering playing it through anything but a media player?

Then you don't have to worry about dirty media causing read errors, once the data is on your media server.
