I'm using a NVIDIA SHIELD TV as both the Plex server and player to playback some makemkv rips of UHD blu-ray discs and I'm having issues. I don't know if it's the MKV or the media server/player. The Hobbit Extended cuts and Fellowship of the Ring all make Plex crash after playing just fine for a few minutes.
Has anybody else had issues with this? Any ideas on how best to debug the problem and ensure the MKV files are solid? TIA

The Plex player sucked on the Shield tube. At least it did for me (2019 ver) until the latest system update from Nvidia. I had to switch to using Kodi+Plex add-on for 4K content, which worked fine.
The EN 9 that Nvidia released yesterday appears to have fixed the issues, and a brief trial of playing movies that were previously a problem shows they play ok now.
