AnyDVD Enabled

Post by Elephen »

When I tried to open a new blu ray disk on a Mac a few minutes ago, I received a notice about some software called AnyDVD. From what I found in Wikipedia, this software runs on PCs. Should I ignore the warning on this notice and process the rip? Thanks.

A second blu ray disk opened normally.

Take a look at the BluRay provoking the message in Finder. It should have an AACS directory. If there's something like e.g. !ANY, then the BluRay has been processed before and isn't original anymore.

What is the name of the optical disc within Finder?

This morning, I cleaned the disk and ran MakeMKV again. After getting the same warning message, I ripped the disk. The film and the extras look great. My real question is, did MakeMKV generate that warning message, or did the disk manufacturer add a fake warning message to deter ripping?
