Hey all
Can I please get some recommendations for the best kit to buy, to play full rip UHD sourced MKV's on my TV?
Ideally something that will also handle all the current technologies ie Dolby Vision/HDR/ Atmos etc
I have an old Android box at the moment, but it's laggy for some 4K files....which work fine on the laptop.
Cheers.

Re: Recommendation for best playback device for TV / Full UHD/MKV rips?
I just ditched my Apple TV 4K, which was pretty good but will likely never support Atmos passthrough on local media, for an Nvidia Shield Pro and I have to say I'm impressed. Despite my animosity toward Android, it's a solid little piece of hardware.
I have all my rips on a NAS and Plex is able to play full UHD and Atmos. I prefer Kodi but it currently has a bug where Atmos playback on seamless disks will not work correctly (plenty of threads here on that.)
If Kodi worked 100% it would be perfect, but I'll take 95% great while settling for Plex.
