I'm brand new to most of the Plex stuff but I have done searching and haven't found what I'm looking for.
I have a Samsung UN50MU630D 4K UHD tv (2017 model). I have the Plex app from the Samsung app store as well as an HDMI (4k@30hz max) PC input from my HTPC.
I have my media streaming from a file server and I have full rips with no conversion. Apps are set for direct play and the highest quality settings.
When I use the Samsung TV app or the PC, the picture looks fine, but it's obvious there is no post-processing from the TV, i.e. no upscaling, no UHD color (?), and no frequency scaling (not 120 hz).
Is this typical behavior? Built-in apps from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the antenna all seem to get post-processing from the TV.
What can I do go enable the TVs post-processing?
How to enable 120hz and UHD on TV via Plex
Re: How to enable 120hz and UHD on TV via Plex
This is a question probably more appropriately asked on a Plex (or Samsung) support forum?
Re: How to enable 120hz and UHD on TV via Plex
That is very correct. This is not the Samsung, Plex, or "Everything" support forum. It's the MakeMKV support forum.
