------------------------
I think i found the problom, DvDs are encoded whit mpeg and the ones i already have are in avc, so i have to reencode the dvd and then use makeMKV, have tryed Nero recode 2010 witch is bught, but it dont work
--------------------
the way i think: If i like it i buy the BD, if not i even dont wanner DL the disc to see if i like it ( youtube -> prewive of the movie )
So mkv`s are just a backup security way, so there dont get scratched, movie like ( metroplice which is on dvd and avtar in HD and 3D ( yep i have a 200 Hz ))

Re: Samsung BD-P4600
So dvds cant be played as Mkv but as dvds. as mkv there only takes ~2Gb but i guess it is cus it is a stripped version, but what i can see is it the codex (mpeg/AVC) that is the probom atm, unless you have an idear

DVD's do not use the MPEG-4 AVC codec.ccc38941 wrote:So dvds cant be played as Mkv but as dvds. as mkv there only takes ~2Gb but i guess it is cus it is a stripped version, but what i can see is it the codex (mpeg/AVC) that is the probom atm, unless you have an idear
DVD's use MPEG-2 video.
MakeMKV does not covert video, it rips it as is.
Re: Samsung BD-P4600
I know, but why ake it if there is a problom whit the support for playback
Re: Samsung BD-P4600
Because only a few (hardware) players do not support it (mpeg2 in mkv), and only because the manufacturer does not want to support it.
My advice is to get a real hardware player that supports everything like a popcornhour, or live with the limitations of your current hardware.
