Blu-Ray File Conversion

Hi there, I'm new to using MakeMkV and was just wondering if anyone could answer a quick question I have regarding it. Whilst the software has been running smoothly for the most part of taking content off of my DVDs and blu-rays, I have run into some trouble when it comes to ones that are scratched. I did look at the website when it prompted me with a Read Error message and it told me that a work around is to copy the files off of the disc directly without MakeMKV and then use it to decrypt the files. Since it's gonna take some time for them to copy over I was just wondering if anyone could explain to me what to do with MakeMKV to decrypt the files?
