BD drives

Post by Nitro1 »

I have seen a lot of topic's on working BD drives and that is great. But i am looking for a fast BD drive. I do not want to spend an arm and a leg but if anyone knows of any good fast BD drives can you please list them or leave a link to the retail site for them.

Thank you very much

I've got this one. It's an 8x reader. Realistically i get about 4.5x max according to MakeMKV during rips.

I use the same drive connected to my MacBook using a USB to SATA cable/adapter. Works great - most BD rips take about 30 minutes using my setup.

I just got the same one on Friday and it works great. BR rip in 30 to 45 minutes via USB.

With MakeMkv 1.5.0 we no longer need to use Bluray Combo drives (those that burn dvd/cd too) just read BD that's it. I also have a lite-on 8X reader/combo and realistic rip speed is 4X. Same too about 30 to 45 mins per rip.
