LPCM audio tracks = no video

A few of the special features on the Baraka Blu-Ray are VC-1 video with a single LPCM audio track. Playing these back after they have been ripped has so far been impossible, Plex/VLC only play the audio from the rip, with no video, and Quicktime with Perian installed opens the video but does not play any sound, playback is very choppy. Using MKVtools to extract the streams gives me a .avi for the video and a .wav file for audio, same playback results. Is this an issue with LPCM and MakeMKV's 'extended wav' output of LPCM audio tracks? All I've been able to find on forums is the exact opposite problem, LPCM audio will not play back while the video runs fine/garbled. If so is there any way to demux/convert/mux the .mkv's so that they will work? Thanks.
