Any issues with MKV, Plex, and Mountain Lion

In the process of converting my DVDs to use with Plex. Most are converted using Handbrake for the smaller size, but want to use MakeMKV for the great movies. I'm a newbie, so are there any issues with the MKV file format, Plex, and Mountain Lion? Does the MKV file preserve the 6-channel audio of the DVD?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm a noob to MakeMKV, so others who are more experienced should jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen so far, MakeMKV can rip the Dolby Digital 5.1 (6 channel) audio track, as long as it's selected. Ripped a DVD this evening, played it back using a media server with the audio feeding through my Denon receiver and it shows the soundtrack as Dolby Digital 5.1. And I'm running MakeMKV on Mountain Lion, using an iMac and a MacBookPro, so you should not have any problems there. I'm familiar with Plex, but haven't used it yet, so I can't comment as far Plex is concerned.
