Whilst the Fatal Error/Sequoia 15.4 situation is going on … ?
Are there alternatives: for those of us who don’t have access to a spare computer, or to a VM?

You could always go back to macOS 15.3.2.

I *hope* so, Davo, this is frustrating!

To be honest, dcoke22, I had thought of it.
But?
Buying a refurbished Windows machine, and putting Make MKV on it would be simpler.
As would waiting a few days!
Either are as frustrating!

It has been a long time since I've been willing to install any update from Apple on day 1. I use all of their stuff and I don't update any of it for usually a couple of weeks after an update is released. If there are serious zero-day security fixes, I will probably update sooner, but still not on day 1.
Almost everyone is less frustrated if they wait at least a week to install an OS update.

Good call: it’s something I should’ve done, myself.
But … ?
And stupidly?
I went ahead with the update, thinking it could solve the problem I was already having … !
What can I tell you … ?
