Mac OS 15.4 bricks opening makemkv

I updated a m4 macbook to 15.4 macOS Sequoia and now makemkv automatically opens a window prompt stating: Fatal error occurred, program will now exit. After pressing ok, the empty default makemkv page remains open and does not read any optical disc drives that is attached. Don't know what changed in the code/script with the new update. I was ripping discs just right before with the previous macOS version. Hope this can be resolved or can get answers how to go about ripping blu rays now.
