Hello. I have used Make MKV with a blue ray disk. When I play the files Vlc recognizes the substitles. When I attempt to play the same file as is through my Roku media player no subtiles are there. I have searched for an srt file. If I run the file through HandBrake it will see an englsh PGS file. If I run that file through handbrake and select burn in and forced the result file gives me CC when viewed in Vlc but nothing through the Roku media player. Is there away to capture the english language PGS file from the Make MKV and possiby convert it to an srt file and attach with HandBrake ? Or anyother solution to my dilema ?

Thanks much

Can you get a different player app on your Roku? Some players can (and some can not) show PGS subtitles. Using a different player might be the easiest answer.

On the Mac, I think you can use an app called Subler to do the OCR to turn PGS (blu-ray) or VobSub (DVD) subtitles into a .srt. I don't have a lot of experience with this app because my AppleTV can show PGS subtitles.
