Unable to rip Honeyland DVD; cycling of scan mode
Posted: Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:08 pm
I am ripped a dozen DVDs using MakeMKV.
Background info:
Mac OSX MacBookPro 16" M1 (Sonora 14.4.1) connected to USB-C port to External Samsung Blu-Ray Disc Model SE-506
When inserting the DVD, it reads it and DVD player views the film. The DVD works, the menu appears. All is as it should be.
Steps:
Step 1: When the disc is inserted, all is normal: Screenshot 1
Log says:
"MakeMKV v1.17.7 darwin(arm64-release) started
Optical drive "BD-RE TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB TS01 R90K6GWD200LEFd" opened in OS access mode.
udf: udf_get_node: bad allocation extension size in udf_node"
Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/rdisk4
Current profile: DVD-R
Manufacturer: TSSTcorp
Product: BDDVDW SE-506BB
Revision: TS01
Serial number: [redacted]
Bus encryption flags: 1F
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1939
Harware support: Yes
Firmware support: No
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 05.21
DVD all regions: Possible, not yet enabled
BD raw data read: Possible, not yet enabled
BD raw metadata read: Possible, not yet enabled
Unrestricted read speed: Possible, not yet enabled
Disc Information
Label: HONEYLAND
Timestamp: 2019-10-01 10:33:43
Data capacity: 4.33 Gb
Disc type: DVD-R
Disc size: 120mm
Number of layers: 1 (PTP)
Steps 2: When the designation folder is assigned, all is normal: Screenshot 2
What I see: Immediately when the folder is assigned, MakeMKV engages. The scan inches a fraction and stays there for hours and cycles and does nothing to rip or create anything: Screenshot 3
Log says:
Backing up disc into folder "/Users/new/Desktop/NonFic2120/Honeyland/HONEYLAND.iso"
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #0 does not match one in IFO header.
udf: udf_get_node: bad allocation extension size in udf_node
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #4 does not match one in IFO header.
Another Step: I stop/quit MakeMKV and re-boot it. It reads the DVD and then I click onto "Open Files (camera icon). The Video_TS and Audio_TS files appear but these files themselves do not open to show anything inside; Most other DVDs I ripped had such a file. There appears to be a special encryption on the DVD that MakeMKV cannot break or read. A BDMV file does not appear adjacent to these 2 folders, which is not normal: Screenshot 4.
Please advise! Thank you! =)
