Will make MakemKv work on ITunes purchased movies so they can be converted to a burnable format?

Not out of the box, but install something like xbmc on your appletv2 to enable mkv playback.

That's not the question.
pasjk:
1) MakeMKV only supports DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray sources, not movie files, whether they are sourced from iTunes or elsewhere.
2) iTunes Store movies are not burnable because they're
encrypted.

Although the previous answer did help to discover what I was inadvertently looking for concerning ATV2.
