Problem with MakeMKV Rip

Today I've ripped on of the two Blurays "Die S?dsee" / It have 3 Titles (3 episodes) on Bluray 1.
Blueray Info:
http://www.bluray-disc.de/blu-ray-filme ... u-ray-disc
Mediainfo output of first episode (all 3 episodes / titles have the same specs)
http://pastie.org/pastes/1525952

I can't view the MKV in VLC or MPlayer. I can hear the sound but no video!
May be the reason is the 1080I format? (Interlaced)
How to watch this type of Rip? Is there something I could set in MakeMKV to playback this file?

THANKS!

Yeah the problem is the VC-1 Interlaced video. I thought mplayer could decode this now? Someone with a Mac will need to help you find a player. I'm sure someone will post soon!

I hope so crowfax :)
I have also a Problem with the soundstream of a different movie.
The codec is Linear-PCM 5.1
In VLC I get an error-message "can't open undf" I think undf means undefinied
VLC takes the next soundstream who works.
Different problem but may be a mac user knows more about this two problems?
If not then I have to wait for an update. I think the rips are correct / MKV conform...
It's a playback issue.

Waiting for answers :)

OK. Whats the conclusion?
Is the MakeMKV Rip correct and is there a chance that in future it will work with vlc.
Or are the Linear-PCM rips corrupted or not ripped correctly?
Sorry I read your link but only understand nothing :)
And what is with the VC-1 interlaced Problem? Anybody have a solution for that.
There are a hand full Blurays out I cant view.. ;(

Thanks a lot mates

makemkv rips correctly, however only a few players can understand 7.1 LPCM in MKV. VLC is unfortunately not one of those.
Solution: demux pcm track with mkvtoolnix or eac3to and encode to FLAC. remux to mkv.

ffmpeg (backbone of vlc, mplayer and everything else) does not support interlaced VC-1 yet. So if you have interlaced VC-1 you will either:
A.) Need windows
or if on linux or mac:
B.) Playback with mplayer via the windows binary codecs.

Thanks for your answer skittle. You're a man!
I'm felling better now. My rips are ok and maybe with a future update it will work.
I will not encode to flac. I know it's lossless. But I prefer archival rips with now reencoding - even if lossless.
Thanks again for your professional response!

Hm, now I opened the VC-1 interlaced MKV file in QuickTime X.
I can now see the Video but it stutters...
I can see in the timeline that QuickTime player loads the Video in the backround - like a stream.
Maybe it plays smooth when everythink is loaded. ich will inform you.
I have Perian installed...

Not related. If the interlaced VC-1 plays in QuickTime, you have Flip4Mac installed.

Yes you are right. VC-1 is a Microsoft thing.
Is deinterlacing such a hard work for the CPU? I have a Core2Duo 3,06 Ghz and it stutters... :(
