8GB .iso file yields many more GBs of MKV files

V1.16.3

I've created an IOS file of the Concert For Georg (Harrison) DVD Disc 1.
The iso file is 8.01GB on MacOS Big Sur.

When I run MakeMKV on this ISO file, approx 14GB of MKV files are generated.
How can this be?

Disc2 had no problems, the .ISO and MKV file sizes are what I would expect.

Yes.

Disks from Lionsgate can have dozens of "titles" on DVDs, only a few of which are the correct general length, and only one of which is in the correct scene order. Their Blurays have over 100.

Disney titles typically have 2 or 3 versions, differing in the language used for the titles and credits, to fit different markets. Those are relatively easy to figure out.

Was the ISO made w/ AnyDVD, by chance? If so, I've observed that LionsGate (et al) titles converted to ISO by AnyDVD will still show 2 main titles when opened w/ MakeMKV. Only one of the 2 will have the correct runtime, while the other will have its scenes jumbled in some fashion, or will move one scene to play after the credits. Since they're already ripped, it should be simple to compare the 2.

No, I'm on a Mac I think AnyDVD is Windows only.

I made my ISOs with Mac DVD Ripper Pro

Thought maybe a different source. Perhaps the same effect? Never looked deeply enough to determine why it happened, but it was consistent w/ obfuscated titles.

Based on "approx 14GB of MKV files", I'll wager you have 2 'large' MKVs which appear to be the main title. Have you compared runtimes? Scanned through both?
