No disc load
Posted: Sat Mar 25, 2017 8:56 am
Have been using MKV for a number of years and jus the other day I lost the ability to load a disk to "rip"
Have tried both Blu ray and non blu ray with the same results ...
Insert the disk, the drawer closes on the software application
The disk starts spinning, but, after a period of time the disk just ejects
I have a back up blu ray player and tried that .... With the same results
Usually have connected to a hub (Blu ray player) have connected directly to my USB port on my Mac mini with no change
Neither USB optical player (both MATSHITA) will load the disk if Blu ray .. just spins then eject
Not sure if this is software, or hardware
Check my latest OS updates ... Only update was Apple Remote Desktop Client on 3/15/2017
My last "rip" was on 3/18/2017 of a Blu ray disk ... Australia, with no problems
This started on 3/21/2007
Here is the software showing both players
MakeMKV v1.10.4 darwin(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/wileywesson/MakeMKV_log.txt
Optical drive "DVD+R-DL MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-898 HE13d" opened in OS access mode.
Optical drive "BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ272 1.01d" opened in OS access mode.
This is the log for both players after insertion of media:
